ChainCatcher news, Galaxy Research released a report stating that the U.S. Department of Justice recently seized 127,271 bitcoins worth nearly $15 billion, causing the U.S. government's holdings to surge by 64% overnight.

According to Arkham data, U.S. government addresses currently hold approximately 325,447 bitcoins, equivalent to about $34.78 billion, which accounts for about 3.5% of the U.S. gold reserves in dollar value. Thus, the number of bitcoins held by the U.S. government ranks second among all entities, only behind Strategy. Galaxy Research sarcastically remarked, "Bitcoin was born out of resistance to fiat currency, yet it has now become collateral for the fiat system."
