IOBC Capital Managing Partner: The Era of Dollar Fund Investment in Crypto is Coming

ChainCatcher news, IOBC Capital managing partner Alva Xu stated on X that IOBC Capital has been established for 4 years and has invested in more than ten crypto VCs. The Chinese-funded investments are deeper, and she believes that it is no news that crypto VCs are facing developmental difficulties, but it is news that crypto VCs are upgrading.

She recently learned about some fund dynamics that made her believe the crypto VC ecosystem is entering a new stage:

1. A well-known investor has launched a new Crypto fund that has raised 100M, with the first closing already completed at 30M;
2. A leading fund is raising a 600 million dollar fund, with the first closing reaching 300 million dollars;
3. A leading fund is currently raising a new fund, with the first closing at 60M;

"The second generation of Asian crypto VCs is clearing out, and crypto investments are entering an era of dollar fund investments."

These funds have a very long duration, often with a 10-year investment period, typical of dollar fund investments, and are inclined towards "equity investments."
