Belarus has announced the formation of a working group to combat illegal cryptocurrency trading

ChainCatcher news, according to Cryptopolitan, the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB) announced the formation of a special working group to combat illegal cryptocurrency transactions. This decision was made following a meeting between representatives of Belarusian banks and representatives of cryptocurrency companies approved by the government.

The meeting primarily discussed how to prevent unauthorized payment transactions and illegal cross-border fund transfers through licensed cryptocurrency platforms within Belarus. Participants reached a consensus that comprehensive measures are needed to effectively combat existing illegal trading patterns in the shadow economy. During the meeting held on Monday, Belarusian bankers and fintech experts identified methods to address the circulation of illegal cryptocurrencies. The monetary authority stated in a statement that the establishment of a special working group is one of the measures agreed upon during the meeting.
