ChainCatcher news, according to Decrypt, Japanese regulators plan to ban insider trading in the cryptocurrency sector.
The country's top financial regulatory body—the Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission—is about to be authorized to investigate related violations. It can propose additional fines or refer cases for criminal investigation against traders who use undisclosed information. Previously, insider trading regulations did not cover the digital asset sector. The Financial Services Agency of Japan will discuss the details of new regulations, aiming to pass new legislation by 2026. In terms of implementation steps, regulators will first clarify the prohibition of trading cryptocurrencies using undisclosed information, and subsequently develop more detailed and specific rules to regulate the cryptocurrency market, protect investors' rights, and promote the healthy development of the digital asset industry.
