ChainCatcher news, according to The Block, the number of weekly unique stablecoin senders on Ethereum has seen exponential growth over the past 12 months.
From January 2020 to July 2024, there was an average of about 400,000 per week; starting in August 2024, the average weekly increase exceeded 1.7%, reaching new highs repeatedly. In 2025, there will be an average of 720,000 unique stablecoin senders per week on Ethereum, and in just the past two weeks, the average number of unique stablecoin senders has surpassed 1 million. The surge in unique stablecoin senders is primarily due to the increasing adoption of stablecoins. For example, in countries with foreign exchange volatility or capital controls, stablecoins effectively serve as a substitute for the dollar. Meanwhile, perpetual contracts, prediction markets, and most real-world assets are settled using stablecoins, creating new addresses. Additionally, as a Layer 1 settlement platform, Ethereum captures traffic from new user onboarding, resulting in a multitude of new stablecoin senders.
