Robinhood CEO: The global popularization of asset tokenization will take at least another 10 years

ChainCatcher live report, Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev shared a keynote speech at this year's Token 2049 conference in Singapore.

Vlad Tenev pointed out that in the progress of asset tokenization, Robinhood has launched stock tokenization services in the EU. He stated that tokenization technology has matured, and the main challenge lies in regulatory approvals from various countries. He predicts that within the next 5 years, major markets will establish relevant frameworks, but global adoption may take over 10 years.

Additionally, regarding the growth of prediction markets, Robinhood's prediction market service has reached $2 billion in trading volume in the third quarter, less than a year after its launch. Tenev emphasized that prediction markets are not limited to elections; there is also strong demand in areas such as sports events and AI development.

Finally, Tenev believes that cryptocurrency technology will fully integrate with traditional finance, and in the future, all assets will be on-chain. Therefore, Robinhood is increasing vertical integration by acquiring the Bitstamp exchange and establishing its own blockchain.
