Lighter public mainnet officially launched, kicking off the second season of the points program

ChainCatcher news, Perp DEX Lighter announced that its mainnet based on Ethereum L2 is officially live, fully open after 8 months of private testing.

The first season points program has ended, and the second season will continue until the end of 2025. The specific ways to earn points will be announced soon. Users can now join freely, without the need for an invitation code or deposit limits, but the invitation program remains, allowing invitees to earn points and other incentives.

The Lighter protocol's smart contracts have passed the audit and the report is publicly available, while a brand new block explorer has been launched to help users view orders and transaction statuses.

Retail investors will enjoy free low-frequency or mid-frequency trading on the front end, while API trading (including market makers and high-frequency traders) has started to incur fees, with automatic rules introduced to prevent wash trading and witch attacks.

With the start of the second season points program, the team will disclose more data regarding fee distribution, LLP holder earnings, and the protocol treasury mechanism.
