ChainCatcher news, according to CryptoSlate, the latest compensation report from Protocol Guild shows that most Ethereum core developers earn less than half of the market rate.
The survey collected responses from 111 out of 190 members across 11 organizations, revealing that the average income of Ethereum core contributors is $157,939, which is about 60% lower than the market compensation of $359,074 offered by competing companies. The report notes that nearly 40% of respondents received final job offers from other companies in the past year, but many core contributors still chose to decline high-paying positions to focus on maintaining the Ethereum network.
The Protocol Guild report warns that this compensation shortfall poses a long-term risk to the blockchain network, potentially threatening talent retention and the execution of the technical roadmap, thereby affecting the trusted neutrality of this $400 billion network.
