Kraken launches perpetual contract products in some regions

ChainCatcher news, the cryptocurrency exchange Kraken is launching a new product: perpetual contracts. Reportedly, as the exchange prepares for a potential public listing as early as Q1 2026, perpetual contracts become its latest product expansion initiative.

Kraken's perpetual contracts will be launched on Thursday for eligible customers in specific jurisdictions. This is a type of futures contract that allows traders to make "high certainty" bets on future events.

Kraken points out that its perpetual contracts come with some "built-in protections," including a stop-loss feature that can limit potential downside losses if "the market moves against your prediction." At launch, traders will be able to use their Kraken dollar balance as collateral, with support for other assets to follow.
