Domain registrar Freename completes $6.5 million Series A funding, led by Entrée Capital

ChainCatcher news, according to Finsmes, Swiss Zurich domain registrar Freename announced the completion of a $6.5 million Series A funding round, led by Entrée Capital, with participation from Polymorphic Capital, and continued investment from seed round investors Sparkle Ventures, Blockchain Founders Fund, and Golden Record Ventures. Participating angel investors include Target Global co-founder Mike Lobanov, the Rashwan family office, and former Coinbase Custody CEO Aaron Schnarch.
Freename is led by CEO Davide Vicini and COO Mattia Martone, dedicated to bridging traditional internet and blockchain through its proprietary DNS technology, enabling users to create custom top-level domains and profit from secondary domain sales.
According to Web3 asset data platform RootData, Freename is a TLD (top-level domain) and domain registration platform that allows its users to search for and register/create any type of TLD. On Freename, users can build their own Web3 domain ecosystem and earn passive income from royalties.
