ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, Consensys has confirmed that the MetaMask browser extension has an abnormal disk write vulnerability, which has affected the lifespan of some users' solid-state drives (SSD). The official statement indicates that a fix will be released soon.

This issue causes MetaMask to continuously write data to the solid-state drive in the background, reaching up to 500GB per day, or significantly shortening the SSD lifespan. Currently, several users have reported on GitHub that the vulnerability is still active, and the official team is actively researching ways to optimize the data write frequency and state size.
