ChainCatcher news, according to Decrypt, the metaverse platform Decentraland has announced the release plan for its desktop client, which brings visual upgrades, improved performance, and new mechanisms to the Ethereum metaverse game. This major update marks a shift in its gaming vision, focusing on the "social" aspect of the metaverse.

Currently, Decentraland runs in a browser, which limits the game's graphical capabilities and performance, arguably hindering its development in recent years. The Decentraland desktop client will launch as a public beta on October 22, providing significant improvements for players and creators in the metaverse.

While Decentraland will not abandon its traditional tablet screen foundation, the team is also considering the possibility of entering the VR world. Decentraland engineering manager Agnieszka Besz stated that for Decentraland to ultimately succeed in VR, the game must refine its performance, and the desktop client is a step towards achieving this grand goal.
