ChainCatcher 消息，据金十報導，歐盟委員會負責貿易和經濟安全等事務的委員謝夫喬維奇表示，如果美歐貿易談判失敗，歐盟準備對價值 720 億歐元（約合 840 億美元）的美國進口商品徵收額外反制關稅。
就在歐盟與美國努力達成貿易協議之際，美國總統特朗普宣布，自 8 月 1 日起將對歐盟的進口商品徵收 30% 的關稅。歐盟成員國部長於 14 日在布魯塞爾召開會議，討論如何回應特朗普最新表態，並準備反制措施。
