Terence Tsao

Terence Tsao is Ethereum Developer at Prysmatic Labs. Love building decentralized applications, researching & developing new projects to support the ecosystem, and transforming the decentralized world. I have a passion for Ethereum, Cryptoeconomics, blockchain scalability, Web 3.0, P2P and open source contributions. I’m passionate about building decentralized and privacy-preserving technology. My dream is to contribute to the internet’s original promise by dispersing power away from a central authority. As we saw the value of decentralized systems in the first era of the internet, hopefully we’ll get to see it again in the next. Born and raised in Taiwan, I moved to the Bay Area during high school and then studied Computer Science at University of California Santa Cruz. I’ve worked at Fortune 500 companies like Cisco, Riverbed before discovering Ethereum. Early 2018, I discovered the Ethereum Scalability Research and Development Subsidy Program. Wanted to contribute to scalability but didn’t know where to start, luckily I met Raul Jordan and Preston Van Loon and started the company Prysmatic Labs. We are a group of open source contributors working on implementing the core protocol of Ethereum blockchain, we are specialized on implementing cutting-edge research such as distributed networking, proof of stake consensus and sharding. Now days you can find me working on our flagship project, Prysm, a production client for Ethereum 2.0.
