Jose Maria Macedo

Details

José Maria Macedo is Partner at Delphi Ventures and Head of Consulting at Delphi Digital. Previously, I was a founding partner at 01 Capital (currently Special Advisor), a corporate finance advisory firm focused entirely on digital assets, where I was fortunate to work on some of the space’s most prominent M&A transactions, capital raises and consulting mandates. Before this, I was a Partner & Head of Advisory at AmaZix - one of the largest consulting & community management companies in the space, having worked with over 150 projects raising $1.3B, including the likes of HDAC, Bancor, Bankex, GBX, WePower, GoChain, among many others.

Before entering crypto, I was a pro poker player and built a bankroll from $30 at the age of 16 to $1,600,000 at the age of 18, achieving one of the highest global win-rates in 6max poker, playing some of the highest stakes online and attracting sponsorships from LockPoker and PokerStrategy (the largest poker training site in the world). At 19, I quit poker and studied Economics & Philosophy with a focus on Game Theory and Econometrics, graduating with a first-class honours while starting several businesses, including a successful exit of my e-commerce business to Gailarde Ltd - a large UK-based wholesaler. My business ventures have been featured on National TV and Huffington Post, as well as earning me the Duke of York Young Entrepreneur Award (presented by Prince Andrew), Shell Livewire Grand Ideas Award, Enterprise Champion award and Student Entrepreneur of the Year. I've spoken at conferences around the world and regularly write about token economics on Medium, with writings and thoughts being featured on publications such as EuroNews, Yahoo Finance, and Bitcoin.com among others. I am also a member of the scientific committee for San Marino where I act as its token economic expert, advising the government on how to understand, structure and regulate crypto assets. Non-professional stuff: Enjoy reading, training and competing in martial arts, learning languages backpacking, going out, meeting interesting people, creating, advising and investing in businesses.
