He has grown a staff of over 100, managing over $1.2B and $8.2B originated loans. He has designed the technological and financial infrastructure of the rapidly scaling Celsius Network. He started his career in AI and image processing, then C4I simulations, then 3D globe solutions, then P2P and geospatial interoperability, then interactive entertainment, and now crypto and blockchain.

Carl Hua

Carl Hua is the CTO and Investment Partner of Shima Capital. He previously served as Chief Architect at Celsius Network and General Manager of CelsiusX, the DeFi division of Celsius. Before that, Carl led the research and development efforts at RippleX, Ripple's open-source/developers platform business unit. He also co-managed the C++ (XRP Ledger) team during his time at Ripple. Before Ripple, Carl was the CTO for Logos Network - a first-layer, high-performance blockchain company, which was later acquired by Ripple. Earlier in his career, he contributed to the next-generation real-time flight software for the Europa mission at JPL NASA. He has also led engineering teams developing flight software at Northrop Grumman.
