About aelf
aelf began in December 2017, completing funding from notable institutions and listing ELF on exchanges. In 2019, the testnet launched, reporting 14,968 TPS and validating parallel execution and scalability. The mainnet launch followed, establishing its Layer 1 foundation. In April 2024, aelf announced a strategic shift to integrate AI, becoming an AI-enhanced Layer 1 blockchain, with a $50 million ecosystem fund. In December 2024, aelf launched aevatar.ai, a no-code, open-source AI agent framework supporting cross-chain and cross-platform interactions, powered by multiple LLMs. The 2025 roadmap includes intelligent load balancing, AI-facilitated cross-chain interoperability, and AI-driven node selection. Whitepaper 2.0 introduces a modular Layer 2 with ZK Rollup for EVM compatibility and scalability. These milestones mark aelf's evolution from a traditional blockchain toward a self-evolving AI ecosystem.
Positive: In June, completed 2 million ELF transfer to eBridge, enhancing cross-chain liquidity; on September 14, recovery update, key services (explorer, wallet, trading, NFT, staking) and public nodes restored.
Negative: On August 18, detected malicious contract activity, first emergency network pause for about a week, no staking rewards during that period; on August 26, confirmed 155 malicious transactions, node keys potentially exposed, network not formally reopened.
Haobo Ma (Founder & CEO): Graduated from Tianjin University with a B.S. in software engineering. Early crypto adopter, started Bitcoin trading in 2013 and later mined Litecoin/Bitcoin. Founded GemPay (Bitcoin payment) and Allcoin (exchange), then Hoopox (blockchain services). Co-founded aelf in 2017. Member of Blockchain Experts' Commission of Chinese Institute of Electronics.
Chen Zhuling (Co-founder & COO): MIT engineering graduate, former strategy consultant covering Southeast Asia. Co-founded aelf with Haobo Ma in 2017, focusing on business development and operations. Active in community building and partnerships.
