About Bitmain

Bitmain is a leading manufacturer of cryptocurrency mining hardware, best known for its Antminer series of ASIC miners. Its core business covers the design, production, and sale of mining machines, along with supporting solutions like containerized mining farms (ANTSPACE) and farm design services (MFSpec).

Bitmain's main competitive edge lies in its hydro-cooling technology. Compared to traditional air-cooled miners, hydro-cooled units are quieter, more energy-efficient, and more stable, while also enabling residual heat reuse. This directly addresses common industry pain points: high energy costs, noise pollution, and limited deployment environments. By improving energy efficiency (e.g., the S23 series achieving under 9.5 J/T), Bitmain helps miners lower operational costs and expand mining into diverse climates.

In the past six months (March to September 2026), Bitmain hosted WDMS Global 2026 in Hong Kong (August 27–28), where it launched two new hydro-cooled miners: the flagship S23 XP Hyd (600 TH/s, 8.9 J/T) and the rack-mounted S23e U2H (865 TH/s, 10 J/T, designed for standard data centers). The company also showcased ANTRACK, a residual heat utilization solution, and promoted MFSpec's one-stop mining farm design services.

Notably, in late 2025, U.S. authorities (Homeland Security and the Senate Intelligence Committee) investigated potential vulnerabilities in Bitmain's remote management features; Bitmain denied any such flaws. Additionally, as a Chinese company, Bitmain faces scrutiny from U.S. regulators over supply chain dependence, though it has announced plans for U.S. assembly lines.

Updated: Sep 7, 2026

Bitmain plans to establish its first factory in the United States, marking a strategic expansion beyond China amid regulatory pressures in cryptocurrency mining.

Multiple U.S. investigations, including calls by Senator Elizabeth Warren into security risks and ties to the Trump family, highlight long-term compliance and geopolitical challenges for the company.

In the past six months, Bitmain launched two hydro-cooling miners: the flagship S23 XP Hyd (600 TH/s, 8.9 J/T, $25.5/T, shipping in November) and the S23e U2H (865 TH/s, 10 J/T, $11/T, one-month promo), the latter being a 2U rack-mounted unit targeting IDC retrofits. Additionally, it showcased the ANTRACK V2 hydro-cooling cabinet and the ANTSPACE containerized mining farm solution, emphasizing rapid deployment and stable operation.

In strategic partnerships, Bitmain collaborated with HashKey Capital to launch the first Bitcoin hashrate fund, with Bitmain serving as the technology provider supplying mining infrastructure but not participating in investment management. The fund is Bitcoin-denominated and targets institutional investors.

Official future focus: continue advancing hydro and immersion cooling technologies to improve energy efficiency; develop integrated energy utilization, including monetizing stranded energy and heat recovery (e.g., heating); expand AI infrastructure synergy with mining; and lower deployment barriers through modular mining farm solutions. Bitmain emphasizes an "Upgrade Everything" philosophy, aiming for full-chain optimization from hardware to energy management.
