About Wayfinder
Wayfinder is an AI-native, cross-chain navigation infrastructure developed by Parallel Studios, the team behind the blockchain strategy game Colony. Its core business revolves around AI agents called Shells, which can autonomously execute on-chain tasks such as token swaps, NFT minting, and cross-chain transfers. The system relies on two key components: Wayfinding Paths, community-verified step-by-step execution routes for specific tasks, and the Wayfinder Graph, a semantic map of on-chain assets, contracts, and functions that enables Shells to navigate efficiently. Path creators must stake PROMPT tokens as collateral; faulty paths result in slashing, while popular paths generate fees for their creators. This creates an economic incentive layer for maintaining route quality.
Wayfinder addresses three major pain points in AI-blockchain interaction: lack of context (AI struggles to understand on-chain environments), low operational efficiency (no structured indexing, requiring repeated reads), and high development barriers (existing tools are unfriendly to AI agents). Its competitive edge lies in its collective-intelligence navigation system, where the community builds and validates routes, and Shells share successful experiences. Additionally, the BRAP engine aggregates liquidity across routes for optimal rates, and VNet simulations test multi-step transactions before execution to prevent errors.
Regarding recent developments, no reliable information is available for the period from February to August 2026. However, two notable negative events occurred within the past two years: in April 2025, a bot exploited the PROMPT token claim process, stealing approximately 119 ETH from users' claims; and the PROMPT token price has declined 96.35% from its all-time high, making it a high-risk asset. These incidents highlight ongoing challenges in security and market performance.
Wayfinder, developed by Parallel, originated from the AI needs of the game Colony, evolving from a gaming assistant into a full-chain AI Agent protocol. Its core architecture includes Wayfinding Paths and Wayfinder Graph, designed to simplify on-chain operations through natural language. In June 2024, the staking of $PRIME for $PROMPT distribution began, marking the initial step in building the community. In Q1 2025, the PROMPT token generation event took place, followed by the opening of airdrop claims, which were temporarily suspended due to transaction failures and MEV issues, reflecting the project's emphasis on user experience and security. Subsequently, PROMPT was listed on Binance Alpha, and Coinbase International launched perpetual contracts for it, signifying growing market recognition. These milestones highlight Wayfinder's progression from infrastructure development to token economy and market expansion, establishing a foundation for its long-term vision of becoming the operating system for on-chain AI agents.
Wayfinder is developed by the Parallel team, with core members overlapping with Parallel's leadership. The known co-founders and key executives are:
Oscar Mar: Co-founder & Art Director. Graduated from Vancouver Institute of Media Arts, previously worked at Ubisoft.
Perry Haldenby: Co-founder & CTO. Graduated from University of Waterloo, previously co-founded Amulyte.
