RaveDAO is a community-driven organization that combines offline electronic music events with Web3 infrastructure. Its core business operates through a "flagship event + local chapter" model, similar to TED and TEDx. Local organizers can apply to host RaveDAO-branded parties in their cities, while participants receive NFT tickets that serve as proof of attendance and accumulate into a "festival passport" for future perks. The project also runs a "Rave for Light" charity initiative, donating a portion of event proceeds to community-selected causes.

Its main value proposition is bringing real-world cultural activities on-chain, addressing issues like opaque ticketing, lack of fan ownership, and untransparent charitable donations. However, the actual necessity of a token for organizing parties remains questionable.

In the past six months (March to September 2026), the project continued hosting events, including a Lisbon summit in March. However, in June 2026, on-chain investigator ZachXBT publicly exposed the project as an engineered pump-and-dump scheme, revealing that approximately 90% of token supply was controlled by insiders. The token price has since dropped about 99% from its April 2026 all-time high. Additionally, 74.8% of locked tokens are scheduled for a concentrated unlock in December 2026, creating significant sell pressure. While the team has real identities and the events are genuine, the token layer has been severely compromised by these revelations.
