About BounceBit
BounceBit, as a BTC-native restaking chain, has gone through several milestones with long-term significance. In August 2025, a vulnerability in its Evmos-based Layer 1 architecture led to the theft of approximately 286.5 million BB tokens. The team decided to permanently halt the chain and migrate to BNB Chain, with new BEP-20 tokens issued based on a pre-attack snapshot, excluding the attacker's holdings. This migration marked a strategic shift from maintaining its own chain to leveraging BNB Chain's security and ecosystem. Earlier, in October 2024, BounceBit released V3 "Big Bank," natively integrating a perpetual DEX and introducing an interest-bearing BB token standard with rebasing mechanics, enhancing utility. In September 2024, the team announced plans to use platform fees for BB repurchases, aligning tokenomics with protocol performance. In July 2024, BounceBit launched an RWA yield platform based on Franklin Templeton's on-chain government bond fund, bridging traditional finance and DeFi. Additionally, in Q4 2024, it planned to offer tokenized stock trading, and in 2025, it announced support for WLFI's stablecoin USD1, expanding its asset ecosystem. These developments collectively define BounceBit's evolution from a restaking chain to a comprehensive yield and trading platform.
