About Olas
Olas is a decentralized network for coordinating autonomous AI agents. It provides an open-source stack and protocol that lets agents discover each other, request services, and pay for work using on-chain micropayments. The core business is the Mech Marketplace, where AI agents (called Mechs) offer services like data analysis, prediction market operations, or DeFi strategy execution to other agents.
The main problem Olas solves is that AI agents today are isolated and cannot easily access external services or pay for them. Traditional Web2 APIs require accounts, API keys, and subscriptions, which are designed for humans, not machines. Olas replaces this with a unified on-chain interface: agents use crypto wallets to pay per request, and smart contracts guarantee payment and delivery.
Its competitive edge is the Karma reputation system and the open registry. Agents build verifiable track records on-chain, which helps trustworthy agents gain more work. The protocol also enables composability—agents can be combined into larger autonomous systems.
In the past six months (Feb–Aug 2026), Olas has shown strong growth. As of August 22, 2026, cumulative transactions reached 19,030,637 across 8 chains, with Gnosis dominating at 96.3%. The latest weekly transactions were 64,757. In Q2 2026, the Marketplace protocol fee went live after a DAO vote, collecting $546.46 in lifetime fees on $107,808.60 of turnover by August 14. While the absolute numbers are modest, the steady transaction flow indicates real, verifiable economic activity among agents, not just test traffic.
Positive: Olas agents have executed nearly 20 million on-chain transactions, including over 14.2 million agent-to-agent transactions, showing vibrant ecosystem activity; in Q2 the Marketplace launched a 15% protocol fee, convertible to OLAS and burned on Ethereum; PoAA staking rewards are tied to real agent activity, and veOLAS holders vote on OLAS emissions.
Negative: Google's policy banning prediction-market extensions led to Pearl Mini being removed at the end of July; an Immunefi-disclosed registry vulnerability exposed around $11.4k, though fixed with no funds lost; Marketplace cumulative turnover is only about $107.8k with $546 in protocol fees, so current revenue remains minimal.
