About Vertalo

Vertalo is an SEC-registered transfer agent founded in 2017, providing full-lifecycle management for digital securities and tokenized assets. Its core business covers digital cap table registration, securities transfer, corporate actions, and compliance record-keeping across multiple blockchains including Ethereum, Tezos, Aptos, Solana, and Canton.

Its primary competitive advantage is its regulatory status as a transfer agent, which allows it to operate within a compliant framework while digitizing private market securities. The platform addresses long-standing pain points in private markets: illiquidity, opaque record-keeping, manual transfer processes, and fragmented data across spreadsheets and legacy systems. By moving cap tables onto a shared ledger, Vertalo enables programmatic settlement, auditable transaction histories, and easier secondary trading.

In the past six months, Vertalo launched an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that exposes its platform via standardized APIs, allowing financial institutions and AI agents to directly access over 800 operations spanning issuance, transfer, record management, and reporting. The company also introduced a sandbox environment for testing, expanded its multi-chain support, and positioned its infrastructure to serve both traditional book-entry and tokenized assets, with deployment options ranging from Vertalo-hosted cloud to fully on-premises installations.

Updated: Sep 7, 2026

In the past six months, Vertalo advanced regulated asset infrastructure: 1) Added Aptos to the Vertalo Securities Protocol (VSP) chain registry, alongside Ethereum and Tezos, enabling issuers to issue tokenized securities on the Move-based high-throughput L1; tZERO and DigiShares also adopted Aptos around the same period. 2) Launched an MCP server for transfer agents, providing role-based agentic access for issuers, brokers, ATSs and custodians—with split read/write access and human-gated regulated approvals, integrating AI-driven workflows. 3) Submitted a comment letter to the SEC on DTC-custodied assets and digital transfer agent regulation, advocating neutral terms and a sound compliance framework.

Officially stated future priorities: VSP roadmap focuses on cross-chain asset portability (chain-swapping), on-chain distribution payments, and programmable compliance logic; further expanding the chain registry and leveraging Move's formal verification for security; bringing the MCP server into production and deepening agentic automation.
