About Stackr Labs

Stackr Labs provides a modular SDK for building micro-rollups, which are application-specific rollups that run as independent state machines. The core business is enabling developers to create custom rollups using general-purpose programming languages like Python or JavaScript, rather than being locked into Solidity or other crypto-native languages. The main pain point addressed is the high complexity and cost of building traditional rollups, which typically require deep crypto expertise and custom infrastructure. Stackr simplifies this by abstracting the rollup stack—state transition, execution, and settlement—into a developer-friendly SDK. It also promotes composability, allowing different micro-rollups to interact via a shared aggregator network. In the past six months (2026-02-28 to 2026-08-31), Stackr has likely focused on expanding SDK capabilities, improving developer documentation, and fostering community adoption, though specific milestones are not publicly detailed. No major negative events have been reported, but the project remains in early stages with potential risks around scalability and production readiness.

Stackr Labs, a modular SDK for building micro-rollups, has hit several milestones since its inception. In Sept 2022, the project was founded, evolving from a hackathon concept into a full-fledged framework. A major turning point came during ETH India 2023, where a hosted hackerhouse saw 40 developers from 11 teams test the alpha SDK, with 4 teams using Stackr placing in the top 10—validating its real-world utility. In April 2024, the litepaper was released, clearly outlining the vision for app-specific rollups and solidifying the project's market position. This was followed by the public beta of the SDK, which incorporated feedback from the alpha phase to significantly improve developer experience. The project also announced a $5.5M seed round led by Archetype, with participation from a16z CSS, Lemniscap, and others, to fund team expansion and ecosystem growth. Looking ahead, Stackr plans to launch its v1, expand into multiple programming languages like Python and Rust, and build a verification layer called Vulcan, aiming to make decentralized app development accessible to all developers.
