About Secret Network
Secret Network launched its mainnet in September 2020, enabling private smart contracts (Secret Contracts) and becoming the first privacy-focused chain in the Cosmos ecosystem. In December 2020, it introduced an Ethereum bridge for cross-chain asset transfers. In 2026, a community proposal plans to migrate the network to the Arbitrum ecosystem, converting SCRT into an ERC-20 token, and proposes reducing inflation from 9% to 5%, while Secret Labs would stop maintenance and open-source all code, subject to governance vote. Earlier, the network increased supply by approximately 1.079 billion SCRT, diluting supply by about 75%, sparking community debate.
No buybacks/burns or revenue data in the past six months.
Negatives: On Aug 21, Proposal 365 passed, minting 1.079 billion SCRT and diluting total supply by 75%, with 308.4 million liquid on day one, creating selling pressure; SCRT Labs ended support for the Cosmos L1 on Sept 1; the token fell to about $0.02, down over 80% in 90 days; the snapshot only includes native and staked SCRT, so sSCRT/contract/bridged holdings may be lost.
Positives: The community continuance plan was implemented and block production continues; SCRT is moving to Arbitrum as an ERC-20, gaining Ethereum L2 liquidity and ecosystem access; source code is to be released under a permissive license, governance and staking continue, and inflation drops to 5%.
