About Rainbow
Rainbow is a mobile-first crypto wallet focused on the Ethereum ecosystem, designed for both beginners and experienced users. Its core business is a non-custodial wallet that lets users store, send, receive, and swap tokens across multiple chains (Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, BNB Smart Chain) directly from their phones. It also provides NFT display and management, ENS name support, and a built-in browser for interacting with decentralized apps.
The main pain point Rainbow addresses is the complexity of self-custody. Many newcomers find seed phrases and gas fees intimidating, while power users struggle with fragmented multi-chain experiences. Rainbow simplifies this with a clean interface, automatic token discovery, and integrated swap functionality that aggregates liquidity. Its competitive edge lies in its “consumer-first” approach: it feels like a fintech app rather than a technical tool, which helps onboard mainstream users.
In the past six months (March–August 2026), Rainbow has focused on expanding beyond Ethereum. It launched support for Solana, allowing users to buy/sell SOL tokens without leaving the app. It also introduced an instant fiat-to-stablecoin on-ramp powered by Visa Direct, targeting users who want to enter crypto without prior knowledge. The team reported that monthly active users grew steadily, and the $RNBW staking program gained traction—staked tokens rose from ~13.4 million to ~14.3 million. However, overall transaction volumes dipped in line with the broader market, and the company acknowledged that its share of user trading volume on swaps declined from ~44.5% in May to ~35.2% in June, though Rainbow Black members showed much higher engagement (~72–78% share of wallet). No major security incidents or regulatory issues were reported during this period.
Rainbow, a mobile wallet application, announced in September 2025 its plan to launch the native token RNBW in Q4 2025, marking its transition from a pure wallet tool to a tokenized ecosystem participant.
On December 11, 2025, Rainbow initiated its token sale on CoinList, opening public participation in the RNBW distribution and laying the foundation for community ownership.
On December 17, 2025, Rainbow disclosed the token economics: a total supply of 1 billion RNBW, with 15% allocated for airdrops at TGE, clarifying the initial circulation and long-term incentive structure.
On January 26, 2026, Rainbow conducted the snapshot for the RNBW airdrop, capturing eligible users' on-chain activity and rewarding early adopters who contributed to the ecosystem's growth.
On February 2, 2026, Rainbow launched a CCA auction on Uniswap, introducing a market-based price discovery mechanism for RNBW before the official TGE.
On February 5, 2026, Rainbow completed its TGE, officially issuing RNBW tokens and enabling on-chain trading, a milestone that transformed the wallet into a Web3 gateway with its own economic layer.
Following the TGE, Binance Alpha listed RNBW, expanding the token's liquidity and accessibility to a broader trading audience, reinforcing Rainbow's position in the crypto ecosystem.
