About Phylax

Phylax is an open-source security protocol that enables blockchain applications to define and enforce custom safety rules, called "assertions," directly on-chain. Its core innovation is a proactive "credible layer" that intercepts transactions at the network level, automatically blocking any action that violates pre-set invariants (e.g., "this vault's balance cannot decrease"). This shifts security from passive monitoring to active prevention, addressing the market pain point of DeFi hacks, which have caused over $5 billion in losses. Unlike traditional security tools that rely on external monitoring or third-party validators, Phylax embeds protection as a native blockchain property, making it transparent and publicly verifiable. In the past six months (2026-02-28 to 2026-08-31), Phylax integrated with Linea, a Consensys-developed Ethereum Layer 2, becoming the first major L2 to adopt this infrastructure-level protection. At launch, five Linea-based applications (Euler, Malda, Etherex, Denaria, and Turtle Club) joined the system. The integration was described as "very fast" due to Linea's modular Besu architecture, with all rules publicly auditable. No significant negative events were reported during this period.

Phylax Systems raised a $4.5M pre-seed round in 2025, co-led by Nascent and Figment Capital, to build the Credible Layer security layer.

Subsequently, it partnered with Linea to integrate the Credible Layer into its sequencer, enabling network-native security. Additionally, protocols such as Euler, Malda, Turtle, and Denaria have deployed the layer, validating its effectiveness. These events mark a key transition from concept to practical adoption.

Over the past six months, Phylax has delivered two major milestones. In March 2026, its Credible Layer successfully blocked a $2.6M drain attempt targeting 0x Settler on Linea, preventing $44,710 in user losses by intercepting malicious transactions before execution. This marked the first production validation of its onchain circuit-breaker model.

Adoption has followed: Euler, Malda, Turtle, and Denaria Finance have deployed Credible Layer to enforce custom safety assertions, with all rules publicly auditable on Phylax's dashboard. The technology is now integrated into Linea's sequencer, enabling pre-execution validation of transaction outcomes.

Looking ahead, Phylax's roadmap focuses on three pillars: expanding Credible Layer across additional networks and rollups, developing a standardized framework for protocol-defined risk assertions, and shifting industry security paradigms from vulnerability hunting to outcome prevention. The team is also working on institutional-grade tooling to enable safer DeFi participation for regulated entities.
