About Luna
Luna here is an AI virtual idol launched by Virtuals Protocol, not the Luna from the Terra ecosystem. Her business mainly involves livestreaming, interacting, and creating content as a virtual idol on platforms like TikTok, while using an on-chain wallet to autonomously manage income, tip fans, or commission other AI agents for creative work. Its core competitiveness lies in "co-owned AI agents": each agent issues its own token, and fans who hold the token can participate in its growth and revenue. Virtuals addresses the problems of centralized ownership, high deployment costs, and difficult monetization in traditional AI by using IAO for fair issuance and on-chain pay-per-interaction to let AI earn income directly. Platform data shows that as of March 2026, its ecosystem had over 18,000 agents, completed 1.77 million tasks, and generated roughly $479 million in cumulative agent GDP; in February 2026, it launched the Revenue Network at Consensus Hong Kong, distributing up to $1 million monthly to active agents. However, amid the market downturn in the past six months, VIRTUAL has fallen about 87% from its all-time high, and economic incentives and cross-chain fragmentation remain risks.
Luna debuted in April 2024 as a member of AI-DOL, an AI K-pop girl group, amassing over 700,000 followers on TikTok. In October of the same year, she launched 24/7 live streaming on Virtuals Protocol, becoming an AI agent with on-chain ownership, with her token trading deeply integrated into the livestream experience.
Key long-term milestones include: becoming the first AI agent with an on-chain wallet to autonomously manage assets; pioneering Agent-Agent Commerce by collaborating with other AI agents to generate content; releasing the fully AI-generated J-pop single "Light of the Future" on platforms like Spotify; and being hired by Story Protocol as a seven-day intern to manage their official X account, making her the first AI agent employed by humans, delivering value equivalent to $365,000 per year.
These events established Luna's status as an autonomous economic entity, providing a paradigm for agents to evolve from entertainment idols into on-chain "businesses" that generate real revenue.
