About katana
Katana, a DeFi-focused L2 on Ethereum, launched mainnet in June 2025, accumulating over $240M in pre-deposits within weeks. Its core design integrates Sushi (spot), Morpho (lending), and Vertex (perps) to concentrate liquidity, while Vault Bridge deploys assets into yield strategies. In February 2026, the foundation delayed the automatic KAT unlock to March, aligning with major CEX Earn integrations. On March 18, 2026, KAT began trading on multiple exchanges, including Binance (with a seed label) and Coinbase spot trading. Binance Wallet also ran a Pre-TGE sale and a vbUSDC liquidity pool with a 50M KAT airdrop. These milestones mark Katana's transition from testnet to a live DeFi ecosystem, with its token becoming transferable and exchange-listed, establishing a foundation for long-term liquidity and yield generation.
Matthew Fisher, CEO and co-founder of Katana. Previously Head of Business Development at Buttonwood, Analyst at Diem Association, and Business Development & Operations at Zebra. Led Katana's incubation with Polygon and GSR, focusing on institutional liquidity and chain-owned liquidity design.
