About Hyperweb
Hyperweb is a Web3 developer platform focused on making blockchain development accessible through TypeScript and JavaScript. Its core business includes the Hyperweb Virtual Machine (HVM) for running TypeScript smart contracts across multiple chains, development frameworks like InterchainJS, code generation tools such as Telescope, and testing infrastructure via Starship. The platform addresses the market pain point of high entry barriers in Web3, where developers must learn specialized languages like Solidity or Rust and manage fragmented toolchains across different blockchains. Hyperweb solves this by letting developers write smart contracts once in TypeScript and deploy them across 200+ chains, unifying the development experience. Its competitive edge lies in leveraging the familiarity of TypeScript, the world's most popular programming language, to lower onboarding friction and enable cross-chain interoperability without requiring developers to master multiple ecosystems. In the past six months (2026-03-01 to 2026-09-01), Hyperweb has seen steady adoption, with its tools surpassing 40 million cumulative downloads, including 10.7 million for Web2 utilities and 27.6 million for Web3 tools. The platform has expanded its Chain Registry to support over 200 chains and its database tooling now manages nearly 2 million databases, adding roughly 2,500 per day. However, the ecosystem remains relatively young, with documentation and community resources still maturing compared to more established Web3 platforms, and some developers have noted that cross-chain execution performance can vary depending on the underlying chain's capabilities.
