About Hex Trust
Hex Trust is a licensed digital asset custodian headquartered in Hong Kong, serving institutional clients such as banks, funds, and exchanges. Its core business covers secure custody of digital assets, staking services, tokenization of real-world assets, and a compliance-ready platform for regulated entities.
Its main competitive edge lies in its regulatory licenses across multiple Asian jurisdictions, combined with an in-house built custody technology stack that supports a wide range of blockchains and assets. The company also offers staking and DeFi access directly from its custody platform, allowing institutions to earn yields without moving assets off-platform.
Market pain points Hex Trust addresses include: high operational risk in self-custody, lack of regulated custodians in Asia, and the complexity of integrating staking or DeFi into institutional workflows. By providing a regulated, audited, and insurance-backed custody solution, it lowers the barrier for traditional financial institutions to enter the digital asset space.
In the past six months (Feb–Aug 2026), Hex Trust expanded its staking offering by supporting Lido's stETH, enabling institutional clients to stake Ethereum and access DeFi liquidity. It also partnered with Core Foundation to introduce Bitcoin staking for institutions in APAC and MENA regions, and began custodying tokenized uranium on the Etherlink network, marking its entry into real-world asset tokenization for commodities.
Hex Trust, an institutional-grade digital asset custodian, has marked several long-term milestones. It launched an XRP DeFi gateway enabling institutions to use FXRP under custody, bridging traditional custody with decentralized finance. It planned to issue and host wXRP, a wrapped version of XRP, to expand DeFi applications across multiple chains. The company completed a strategic funding round led by Morgan Creek Digital, strengthening its capital base for future growth. It also issued USDX, a native stablecoin on the Flare blockchain, extending its footprint in the stablecoin ecosystem. These developments underscore Hex Trust's evolution from a pure custodian to a full-service digital asset infrastructure provider, with a focus on regulated DeFi access and multi-chain interoperability.
In the past six months, in August 2026, Hex Trust was added as an institutional masternode validator on the XDC Network. It will participate in transaction verification and consensus, extending its regulated validator and staking infrastructure. The network already counts SBI Holdings, Deutsche Telekom and others among its institutional validators, facilitating over $1.3 billion in tokenized U.S. Treasuries and private credit. Officially, Hex Trust will evaluate institutional client demand for custody of XDC and related tokenized assets in the coming months, continue deploying compliant validators across networks where institutional tokenization is active, and connect licensed digital asset platforms in Asia using its custody licenses and audit standards.
