About Gravity
Gravity, the Layer-1 blockchain under Galxe, has gone through several key milestones. In August 2024, the Gravity Alpha Mainnet launched as an Ethereum rollup, processing hundreds of millions of real transactions for the Galxe ecosystem and validating network performance. In December 2024, Gravity announced the upgrade from LayerZero to Chainlink CCIP as its standardized cross-chain infrastructure, a technical decision that enhanced security and programmability. In 2025, Gravity launched the ".g" domain service, building on-chain identity infrastructure. In June 2026, the Gravity Mainnet officially launched, transitioning from a rollup to an independent Layer 1 blockchain, adopting the AptosBFT consensus engine and Grevm parallel EVM runtime to achieve sub-second finality and high performance. These milestones mark the complete evolution from test validation to independent operation.
Charles Wayn is the co-founder of Gravity, a Layer-1 blockchain. He also co-founded Galxe and served as VP at BitTorrent. Previously, he founded DLive (acquired by BitTorrent) and Jianglin Technologies. He studied at UC Berkeley. Gravity is developed by Galxe, launched in 2024.
