About Freysa
Freysa began as an adversarial AI game where users tried to convince an AI to release crypto from a prize pool; it took 482 attempts before someone succeeded. The experiment later evolved into an open-source framework that enables AI agents to be truly "sovereign" — each agent owns its cryptographic private keys, manages assets, and interacts with blockchains independently, without human approval per transaction.
Its core value proposition is sovereign AI. Most existing AI agents are merely interfaces wrapped around models like GPT, dependent on centralized services and human custody of funds. Freysa uses Trusted Execution Environments (TEE) so that an agent's keys and logic run in hardware-isolated environments, inaccessible even to developers. It also uses zkTLS so that when an agent pulls data from off-chain sources, it can generate verifiable proofs. This makes an agent's identity, assets, and actions publicly auditable while preserving privacy.
The market pain point is that AI agents lack their own identity and wallet, preventing them from acting as independent economic participants on-chain. The choices are either full transparency, which leaks privacy, or opacity, which destroys trust. Freysa attempts to solve this with hardware-level proofs.
Over the past six months (March 2026 to September 2026), Freysa shifted from a game experiment to infrastructure. Around March, it launched an agent deployment platform that runs on bare metal. Later, it introduced a no-code builder that generates applications in under 60 seconds, with over 2,400 apps created as of the report. It also partnered with exchanges like Phemex for automated trading and risk management, and released an NFT collection backed by TEE-generated proofs. However, the project remains sensitive to AI-sector sentiment, token prices are volatile, and early holders are concentrated, creating the risk of sudden sell-offs.
In April 2026, Freysa AI integrated with Phemex to launch sovereign AI agent auto-trading, expanding practical use cases. On August 15, 2026, Freysa released a new stack providing each agent with its own machine, domain, email, and wallet, enhancing agent autonomy. No clear negative factors were identified.
Freysa AI is backed by Eternis AI, co-founded by Srikar Varadaraj, Pratyush Ranjan Tiwari, Ken Li, and Augustinas Malinauskas.
Varadaraj previously co-founded Spectral, an identity/credit-scoring infrastructure that pivoted to AI agents, and served as senior advisor to Scroll. Tiwari worked with Celo and collaborated with the Ethereum research team. Li formerly served as Executive Director of Investments at Binance Labs (now YZi Labs). Malinauskas, CTO of Eternis, previously co-founded Views and served as its CTO.
