About ZenChain

ZenChain is a Layer 1 blockchain that tries to combine Bitcoin's security model with Ethereum's programmability. The network is EVM-compatible, so developers can deploy contracts with Solidity and similar tooling, and its hybrid consensus aims for fast finality alongside high throughput. Rather than relying on layer-two rollups or third-party bridges, ZenChain handles cross-chain movement and asset transfer at the protocol level and emphasises a trust-minimised approach to custody.

An AI module sits inside the protocol layer for fraud detection, execution optimisation and adaptive management of network conditions, which the project calls its AI security layer. On standards, ZIP-20 covers token issuance on the network and a cross-chain interoperability module handles asset movement to and from other chains. The native ZTC token pays fees and carries staking and governance rights, and the network keeps a channel for interacting with Bitcoin assets so that BTC holders can use them inside an EVM environment.

Key developments: In early Q2 2026, zBTC and native BTC staking went live on mainnet, secured by validator consensus with no custodian or bridge operator; the testnet had earlier processed over 19 million transactions from more than 7 million wallets.

Incentives: About $590 million worth of ZTC is staked across the validator network, a staking ratio near 22% with an average annual yield of about 14.3%.

On January 7, 2026, ZTC was issued through an exclusive TGE in the Binance Wallet, with a fixed total supply of 21 billion tokens, later listing on KuCoin, Bitget, Gate, HTX, MEXC and LBank; it peaked at $0.012675 that day, with a circulating supply of about 4.89 billion and roughly 695 holding addresses. The project had previously raised about $8.5 million led by DWF Labs and Genesis Capital. The testnet processed over 19 million transactions across 7 million wallets, and validators staked about 590 million ZTC.

The technical approach of ZenChain combines Bitcoin light nodes and Taproot verification with PoS consensus, with the CCIM cross-chain interoperability module embedded directly in the consensus layer; zBTC is issued by validator multisig with no custodian or separate bridge operator; Nio handles on-chain AI security monitoring, with block times of about 6 seconds and per-transaction fees below $0.01.

ZenChain's roadmap has mainnet launching in the first quarter of 2026, followed by zBTC and native BTC staking on mainnet in early Q2, moving into BTCFi lending and settlement.
