About Rarible

Rarible is an NFT marketplace and infrastructure provider launched in 2019, starting from aggregated trading and creator royalties on Ethereum and later turning the same matching and settlement into the white-label RaribleX for brands and chains to run their own markets. It addresses NFT liquidity spread across dozens of chains and royalties bypassed by off-chain venues: orders are signed off-chain and settled on-chain, aggregators compare prices across chains, and royalties are enforced in the settlement contract so a buyer cannot avoid them by switching front ends.

Its place has moved from collector marketplace to enterprise market technology: RaribleX supplies matching, royalties and wallet integration to brands, chain foundations and games, while the main site keeps the retail entry. In August 2026 it launched a Solana marketplace with enforced creator royalties, and in June it introduced Gacha Station for collectible draws. In May the brand and core platform assets were acquired by IMPOSSIBLE, with the RARI Foundation and token staying in the original entity, and the native RARI Chain was confirmed in September as winding down, narrowing the token's role to foundation treasury governance.

Brand sale and shrunken governance: IMPOSSIBLE acquired the Rarible brand and core platform assets including RaribleX on May 29, while the RARI Foundation and token stayed with the foundation entities; the native RARI Chain is being sunset and by September 10 the token governed only the foundation treasury.

Progress and valuation: Rarible launched on Solana on August 6 with enforced creator royalties and rolled out Gacha Station on June 22. RARI traded at $0.152 on October 21 for a $3.76 million market cap, with 24.71 million tokens circulating, 98.85% of the cap and almost no unlock overhang.

Rarible has shifted its product strategy toward physical collectibles and RWA markets after the acquisition by Impossible Finance, with emphasis on developing Pokémon cards, Gacha mechanisms, and Solana chain projects. This adjustment has led to reduced support for original NFT creations, as the Creator Fund did not disburse new grants during Q3 and Q4 to preserve capital flexibility.

At the same time, a governance proposal has been submitted on infrastructure management rights transfer, covering the handover of administrative control for protocol contracts on 25 networks from addresses managed by the former CTO to designated addresses of Impossible Finance, aiming to lessen reliance on former team members and improve operational efficiency.

Following the completion of the governance process, the plan involves Eugene executing Safe owner changes and transferring ownership of EOA-managed infrastructure to the corresponding addresses of Impossible Finance. Subsequently, Impossible Finance will migrate single-key infrastructure to multisig setups and update Rarible's infrastructure documentation to reflect the new ownership structure. These transfers will be carried out separately to ensure a smooth transition, with associated gas costs borne by Impossible Finance's operational budget. The overall arrangement seeks to align with current operational responsibilities and enable the team to independently manage security patches, upgrades, and routine maintenance. This will allow the current operational team to independently handle security patches, upgrades, and daily maintenance.
