About Quai Network
Quai Network, an open-source PoW blockchain, began with a 2019 NSF grant at UT Austin, leading to the BlockReduce research paper and the PoEM consensus mechanism. Its development progressed through four public testnets: Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age, and Golden Age, each refining the network's sharded architecture and confirming key milestones like 1.4M blocks and 110K transactions on Bronze Age. In 2022, the project raised $8M from Polychain Capital, followed by a $2M round from Alumni Ventures. A strategic $5M round was completed in August 2024 with Cogitent Ventures and others. The mainnet launch and token generation event are scheduled for January 2025, marking the transition from research to production.
