About Ore

Ore is a digital currency on Solana using a novel mining mechanism. Unlike traditional PoW, miners deposit SOL to compete in one-minute rounds; losers' SOL flows to winners, creating a zero-sum game. The protocol uses 100% of revenue to buy back ORE, burning 90% and distributing 10% to stakers, achieving deflation.

Its core narrative is "native store of value" for Solana. By tying mining to SOL deposits and buyback-burn, it addresses the pain point of inflationary tokens with no intrinsic value. The model aligns incentives: miners become holders, and staking rewards come from protocol revenue, not inflation.

In the past six months (2026-03 to 2026-09), Ore saw explosive growth after the V3 relaunch. Daily revenue peaked at $1M+, market cap regained $100M+, and net emissions turned negative (supply decreasing ~0.02% daily). The protocol also launched a quantum-safe smart wallet using Falcon-512 keys, positioning for long-term security.

Negative: critics note mining is a negative-sum game for most participants; only long-term holders benefit. The competitive landscape may shift as programmatic miners deploy algorithms, though the edge remains minimal.

Ore's development features several key milestones. In April 2024, Ore launched as the Solana hackathon champion, using a PoW mining mechanism that caused severe congestion on the Solana network and was forced to pause. In August 2024, Ore v2 restarted but failed to resolve incentive misalignment, with low mining returns. In September 2024, the development team Regolith Labs completed a $3 million seed round led by Foundation Capital. On October 22, 2025, Ore launched its comprehensively restructured V3 protocol, introducing a 5x5 grid mining system, Motherlode prize pool, refining fees, and protocol revenue buyback mechanisms, achieving a deflationary economic model. After V3 launched, protocol daily revenue exceeded $1 million, and ORE price surged from $10 to over $600. Solana co-founder commented "Ore is money," marking the project's transformation from an experimental protocol to sustainable value storage.

Hardhat Chad (Twitter: https://x.com/HardhatChad) is the founder and core developer of Ore, a Solana-based cryptocurrency using a novel Proof-of-Work mining protocol designed to enable Bitcoin-style fair launch and participation. He has a background in software development and entrepreneurship, having founded multiple companies. He led Ore's iteration from v1 to v2, and its launch famously caused Solana network congestion, drawing widespread attention. He emphasizes community building and fair issuance, and is pushing Ore's ecosystem into DeFi and DePIN.
