About Limit Break

Limit Break is a blockchain company focused on Web3 gaming, centered on the "Free to Own" model: instead of buying NFTs upfront, players receive genesis assets for free, which can be used to obtain more NFTs later; the company monetizes by retaining a portion of NFTs and collecting trading royalties. Its core offerings include the DigiDaigaku NFT collection and a programmable token infrastructure for developers—Apptoken smart contracts (ERC721-C / ERC20-C) and the TokenMaster launchpad.

It addresses the unsustainable economy of traditional "Play to Earn" chain games: players must invest first, while bots and whales can easily manipulate markets, causing wild token price swings. ERC20-C tokens support rules such as quest-locking, trading pair restrictions, price ranges, and promo-only spending, giving developers fine-grained control over in-game economies to reduce speculation and abuse. TokenMaster provides standard pools, stable pools, and promotional pools to help build fairer, more stable virtual economies.

In the past six months (March to September 2026), Limit Break has mainly focused on promoting and educating around ERC20-C and TokenMaster, releasing player-facing guides and continuing to push adoption of its Web3 game infrastructure. The project remains at an early stage, with concrete game launches still unclear.

Limit Break was founded in August 2021 by Gabe Leydon and Halbert Nakagawa, with the core vision of replacing traditional Free-to-Play and Play-to-Earn models with a "Free-to-Own" model. In August 2022, the company launched its first NFT collection, DigiDaigaku, minted for free to the public, and announced a $200 million funding round led by Paradigm, Standard Crypto, and others, marking a landmark event in the Web3 gaming space. In March 2023, Limit Break acquired NFT distribution platform FreeNFT to strengthen its free NFT promotion capabilities and further expand the Free-to-Own ecosystem. These events established its leading position in the blockchain gaming sector.

During the reporting period (2026-03-04 to 2026-09-04), Limit Break made significant progress on both product and infrastructure fronts.

First, in March 2026, the company launched Puzzle Panic, a 3D arcade puzzle game, in limited regional tests across New Zealand, Australia, and Singapore. Notably, the game deliberately excludes blockchain elements, adopting a "fun-first" strategy to validate gameplay and gather player feedback before integrating Web3 features.

Second, the company initiated a public audit competition for LBAMM (Limit Break Automated Market Maker) in late March, with a $150,000 reward pool. LBAMM is described as programmable liquidity infrastructure supporting multiple execution models, including concentrated liquidity, orderbook-style swaps, and hook-based customization. The protocol had already undergone three independent audits prior to the public competition.

Third, Limit Break teased an upcoming testnet launch for a "next-generation blockchain experience," signaling continued development of its proprietary chain infrastructure. This builds on the adoption of its ERC-721C and ERC-20C standards, which have been integrated by partners such as Sky Mavis for its bAXS token.

Looking ahead, the company's roadmap emphasizes a phased approach: first perfecting the consumer gaming experience, then layering in tokenized ownership and economic systems via its standards and LBAMM infrastructure. The testnet launch is expected to be the next major milestone.
