About LambdaClass
LambdaClass is an engineering firm built around formal verification, constructing systems where correctness is non-negotiable in Rust, Lean 4 and Erlang/Elixir. It does not sell bodies: it takes over a technical stack, writes machine-checkable specifications, proves optimizations and compiler transforms equivalent in Lean 4 and generates production code from those proofs, so critical paths are checked by a machine rather than by test coverage. Blockchain work spans zero-knowledge proof systems, execution and consensus clients and custom virtual machines.
In the infrastructure division of labour it acts as contractor and maintainer of base components: its Rust Cairo VM drives Starknet's sequencer, lambdaworks supplies SNARK and STARK primitives, ethrex is a ZK-oriented Ethereum execution client, and the Commit-Boost validator sidecar is used across a large share of Ethereum validators. Clients are chains, rollups and financial systems that need audit-grade guarantees, and deliverables are open-source code plus long-term maintenance.
LambdaClass was founded in 2014 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, focusing on distributed systems, machine learning, compilers, and cryptography, building critical infrastructure with Rust, Erlang/Elixir, and Lean 4. It developed cairo-rs and starknet_in_rust for Starknet, boosting Starknet V0.12.0 throughput from 30K to 220K Cairo steps per second, establishing its ZK expertise. In August 2023, it terminated its agreement with the Starknet Foundation and later shifted toward the zkSync ecosystem, reflecting its pursuit of independent decision-making. Its Ethereum validator sidecar runs on roughly 40% of the network, and its consensus client Ethlambda is designed to be post-quantum ready. As a venture studio, it invested in Fermah, Yeet, and Lemon, with portfolio exit Clave acquired in 2026. The long-term significance lies in its evolution from a software boutique into a core contributor to ZK and Ethereum infrastructure.
In 2026 LambdaClass's public output centred on the ethrex Ethereum client and the Lambdaworks cryptography library: the team used ethrex as both an execution layer and a zk proving target, published parallel execution and real-time proving experiments built on block-level access lists, and kept maintaining its Rust and Erlang libraries. On July 29 the institutional Ethereum body Ethereum Institutional closed a seed round with LambdaClass as an investor, its sixth disclosed investment of 2026.
From Buenos Aires, LambdaClass's portfolio covers Lemon Cash, Clave, Radius, Electron and Yet Another, mostly $1 million to $1.7 million pre-seed and seed cheques in blockchain, fintech and transaction processing, while the team also sells backend and cryptography engineering to protocol clients and has long contributed to Starknet and Ethereum core standards work. The Ethereum Institutional seed it joined that month funds neutral Ethereum research and deployment guidance for banks, asset managers and custodians.
LambdaClass pushes ethrex toward one codebase serving both verifiable execution and zk proving, and keeps using the fund and the studio to back infrastructure teams in Latin America and Europe.
