About Fermah
Fermah is a universal zero-knowledge (ZK) proof generation layer. Its core business is a two-sided marketplace called Froben: on the demand side, protocols and developers submit proof generation requests; on the supply side, GPU/CPU operators compete to generate proofs. The system uses an intelligent orchestration layer to match supply with demand, aiming to make ZK proofs cheaper, faster, and more reliable.
It also operates two other products: Flashcast Social, a decentralized social protocol that uses ZK proofs to automate actions (e.g., creating markets from tweets), and Fermah Pay, a payment layer that lets apps charge users in USDC without requiring users to hold gas tokens or manage keys.
The market pain point Fermah addresses is that ZK proof generation is expensive, slow, and often requires specialized hardware. This limits the scalability of ZK-based applications. Fermah's narrative is "protocols that act" — enabling smart contracts to execute conditional logic based on verifiable off-chain events, with proofs delivered back on-chain. The key value proposition is removing the need for human intervention in complex workflows.
Regarding the past six months (2026-03-01 to 2026-09-01): In late March 2026, Fermah launched its devnet and announced Froben. It also partnered with ZKsync to decentralize proof generation for ZKsync's ecosystem, and introduced confidential proving delegation, which allows proving to be delegated to powerful machines while keeping private data confidential. The incentivized testnet was announced to stress-test the network under real-world conditions, focusing on matchmaking efficiency, payment distribution, and slashing mechanisms. No major negative events were reported during this period, though the testnet phase carries inherent risks such as potential mechanism adjustments and slashing of operator deposits.
Fermah, a ZK proof generation layer, completed a $5.2M seed round led by a16z CSX and Lemniscap, marking its initial institutional backing. It then launched a phased incentivized testnet (Goldwasser, Sahai, Boneh) to stress-test its universal proof market, validating real-world workloads and payment mechanisms. These milestones establish its foundation for a decentralized proof marketplace.
Fermah, the ZK proof generation layer, has made significant strides in the past six months. Its incentivized testnet launched in phases, stress-testing core components like matchmaking, payment mechanisms, and security protocols. The company integrated with major ecosystems, including ZKsync and Scroll, to generate real-world proofs at scale. Notably, Fermah announced a partnership with Reclaim for confidential proving delegation. On the business front, Fermah secured paying customers such as ZKSync Era and Abstract Chain, with a single ZKsync batch proof involving 500+ parallel tasks across ~30 GPU machines completed automatically in 8–12 minutes. The roadmap focuses on optimizing cost, speed, and reliability, with future phases including external prover node onboarding, payment functionality, and potential slashing mechanisms. Fermah aims to become the universal proof market, enabling cheap, fast, and decentralized proof generation for any proof system, chain, or VM.
