About KAIO
KAIO is a protocol built specifically for Real World Assets (RWA), operating as a sovereign appchain to bring institutional-grade funds onchain. Its core business is providing infrastructure for major asset managers to distribute tokenized funds across multiple blockchains including Sui, Solana, and Base. Funds from institutions like BlackRock, Brevan Howard, and Hamilton Lane are already live on the platform.
The main value proposition lies in embedding compliance directly into the protocol layer. Regulatory requirements from jurisdictions such as the Cayman Islands and Singapore are enforced through automated onchain rules, while lowering minimum investment thresholds for qualified investors to as low as $100. Cross-chain interoperability allows assets to move seamlessly between networks.
The market pain point KAIO addresses is the difficulty of reconciling regulated fund distribution with decentralized finance. Traditional funds face high barriers in DeFi due to compliance, liquidity fragmentation, and operational inefficiencies. KAIO solves this by making compliance programmable and enabling institutional participation without sacrificing regulatory standards.
In the past six months (March to September 2026), KAIO expanded its product line with the launch of KASH, a yield token that bundles blue-chip funds from BlackRock, Hamilton Lane, and Laser Digital into a diversified tokenized basket. The platform has processed over $500 million in transaction volume with roughly $100 million in tokenized assets. A partnership with Mubadala Capital was announced to launch a chain-based fund. However, the platform's reliance on real-world legal frameworks limits its decentralization, and the high compliance barrier means not all users can participate.
KAIO originated as Libre Capital, rebranding to launch a $100 million tokenized income fund. It deployed BlackRock, Brevan Howard and Hamilton Lane funds on Aptos and Sei networks for institutional RWA tokenization. Backed by Nomura Group, it issued governance tokens targeting the $30 trillion RWA market, followed by TGE with Coinbase roadmap inclusion and Bitget Launchpool support.
Over the past six months (2026-03-11 to 2026-09-11), KAIO's token price was influenced by:
Bullish factors:
- Strategic funding: Tether led an $8M round in April 2026, bringing total funding to $19M, with participation from Systemic Ventures, Further Ventures, and Laser Digital.
- Major partnerships: Announced a chain-based fund with Mubadala Capital (AUM ~$385B); Coinbase to run and hold the tokenized fund on Base, marking the first regulated tokenized asset on a US-listed company's balance sheet.
- Platform growth: Processed over $500M in transactions, ~$100M AUM; funds from BlackRock, Brevan Howard, Hamilton Lane, and Laser Digital live across Sui, Solana, Base, and Hedera.
- Token utility: Governance voting, staking rewards, product access, and fee capture tied to TVL growth.
Bearish factors:
- Token unlock pressure: 37.5% community/liquidity allocation, 31% early investors, 11% team; TGE unlocked 12.5% for liquidity, with 6-12 month cliffs and up to 60-month linear releases.
- Competition: Centrifuge (~$1.99B TVL) and Securitize (>$4B tokenized assets) pose strong rivalry.
- No legal claim on fee distribution for token holders.
