About Gno.land
Gno.land was initiated in 2021 by Jae Kwon, co-founder of Cosmos, with the development of the GnoVM and a Tendermint-based node, laying the technical foundation. In 2024, Test4 launched as the first permanent multi-node testnet, introducing GovDAO governance. From 2025 to early 2026, Test6 through Test8 and the Beta Mainnet brought major VM optimizations, token mechanics, and the first GNOT distribution with an on-chain treasury. Later in Q3 2026, the mainnet is scheduled to launch with GNOT transfers enabled and IBC/ICS interoperability, marking the transition from research to a live, governed network.
Key progress (2026-03-13 to 2026-09-13) includes: the Beta Mainnet launch with first GNOT distribution, an operational GnoVM smart-contract network, and the inaugural GovDAO on-chain governance system; the Pearl testnet release featuring genesis vesting accounts, protocol-level test transfers, and a rewritten grc721 core; and the Topaz testnet enabling unrestricted token transfers with major GnoVM correctness fixes. The GNOT public sale ran July 20–27, 2026.
Future roadmap: Phase II enables GNOT transfers via GovDAO vote and focuses on ecosystem growth and developer tooling. Phase III prioritizes IBC-based interoperability and bridges, especially with AtomOne, plus Interchain Security integration. Mainnet launch is expected in Q3 2026, followed by ecosystem expansion and a hardened, fully interoperable network with protocol-level GNOT transfers enabled.
