About GEODNET

GEODNET is a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) that builds a global real-time kinematic (RTK) correction service using blockchain incentives. It deploys a network of ground-based GNSS reference stations (called "Space Weather Stations") on rooftops worldwide. These stations collect satellite data and broadcast centimeter-level positioning corrections, reducing GPS errors from meters to 1-2 centimeters.

The core problem it solves: traditional RTK correction services rely on centralized infrastructure that is expensive to build and maintain, limiting coverage to wealthy regions. GEODNET crowdsources this infrastructure—anyone can buy a station, install it, and earn GEOD tokens for providing quality data. Businesses (autonomous vehicles, drones, precision agriculture, surveying) pay for the correction data, creating real revenue. Approximately 80% of data revenue is used to buy back and burn GEOD tokens, linking token supply to actual network usage.

In the past six months (March-September 2026), GEODNET saw significant exchange adoption. On July 27, 2026, both Upbit and Bithumb—South Korea's two largest exchanges—listed GEOD on the same day, opening KRW, BTC, and USDT trading pairs. This followed Coinbase adding GEOD to its listing roadmap in June 2026. Network growth continued with active nodes surpassing 20,000 and annualized revenue reaching approximately $7.3 million by late 2025. Weekly token burns exceeded $170,000 in April 2026.

Negative developments within two years: token unlock schedules for team and early investors create ongoing sell pressure. The revenue scale remains small relative to market valuation, making the price sensitive to growth expectations. Competition from established players like Trimble and Hexagon in the RTK market poses a long-term challenge. Additionally, regulatory classification of the GEOD token varies across jurisdictions, creating uncertainty for holders.

GEODNET launched its testnet in January 2022 with 100 miners, marking the initial token distribution and operational framework. The mainnet followed in June 2022, introducing GeoDAO, smart contracts, and token rewards while expanding to 500 miners. In February 2023, the public service provider platform went live, making data products widely accessible and growing the network to 2,500 miners. Mainnet 2 became operational in January 2024, enabling broader functionality and scaling to 30,000 active stations. By December 2024, the network surpassed 12,000 stations with 455% year-on-year revenue growth, highlighting its rapid adoption. The roadmap targets global RTK services by 2025, aiming to become the world's largest single RTK network with over 100,000 stations. These milestones demonstrate GEODNET's evolution from a decentralized GNSS experiment to a critical infrastructure for precision navigation, underpinned by blockchain incentives and community participation.

Positive factors:

The annual halving was completed on June 30, 2026, cutting base mining rewards from 12 GEOD to 6 GEOD, halving inflationary pressure. On August 1, GEODNET officially announced GEOD had entered a net-deflationary state, with burns exceeding new issuance. Revenue keeps growing, with annualized revenue above $10 million; 80% is used for open-market buybacks and burns, equivalent to a roughly 8-9% buyback yield. The network has expanded to 21,662 active miners across 171 countries, with over 350,000 GB of RTK data usage. Customers include John Deere, DJI, and TomTom, and it is positioning for physical AI chips for robotics/drones.

Negative factors:

The halving reduces miners' token earnings, and low-margin stations may go offline, affecting coverage quality. Token liquidity remains thin; circulating supply has grown from ~195M to ~462M tokens, creating historical dilution pressure.
