About Firewall
Firewall builds what it calls safe blockspace, with the Safe Sequencer as its core product. Chains today validate only a signature and a fee balance when including a transaction, so a theft and a normal trade look identical at protocol level. Firewall embeds intent analysis in the execution client: full-path simulation, call-tree introspection and state inference on every transaction, adding a third admission test of whether user assets leave without consent, and excluding transactions classified as theft from the block. It runs on its own OP Stack-derived chain, with validator and user rights still anchored to Ethereum.
Its audience is DeFi projects running their own chain or appchain, where deployment gives users and contracts transaction-level blocking, so an attacker holding an exploit still cannot move funds. Protection stops at contracts migrated to that chain; positions on Ethereum mainnet and other networks are outside it.
In 2026 Firewall kept refining its "safe blockspace" thesis. The centrepiece is the Safe Sequencer, which embeds an AI model and pattern recognition into the EVM and execution client, reading a transaction's intent before inclusion and refusing to build blocks that would drain user assets. In effect it adds a third check on top of "the signature is valid" and "the fee is paid". Internally the team frames this as pre-trade risk control rather than post-hoc alerting or recovery; the model must return a verdict within a few hundred milliseconds, so it makes a binary call without a full explanation.
The public demonstration used the Kyber exploit: the same attack contracts drained about $21 million on Base's testnet, while the identical transaction was blocked on Firewall's own OP Stack test chain. A September 2026 industry directory listed a team of roughly 20 and about 1,600 followers on X; the product is not yet on a public mainnet and neither revenue nor token plans have been disclosed. An earlier $3.7 million pre-seed was co-led by North Island Ventures, Breyer Capital and Hack VC. The change also touches the sequencer's authority: who defines malicious, and how a user appeals a wrongly blocked transaction, remain open governance questions.
Firewall will widen the attack corpus and deployment footprint, fold sanctions screening and anomalous-transfer monitoring into the same execution layer, and complete external audits, false-positive benchmarks and validator incentives before launch.
