Charms is an AI character economy platform where users create and interact with AI characters that have persistent memory, personality, voice, and visual identity. Each public character has its own on-chain economy, with markets paired against USDC on Base. Trading fees flow into a character treasury that funds inference costs and upgrades.

Core differentiation lies in the 'reasoning memory' system, which allows characters to understand conversation context and emotional patterns rather than resetting after each chat. The economic model gives creators direct ownership of their characters, with fees distributed among creators, the platform, referrers, and the character treasury.

The market pain point addressed is that existing AI companion platforms treat characters as rented software: users pay subscriptions, creators lose upside when characters become popular, and platforms control relationships. Charms instead positions characters as durable cultural assets that can sustain themselves through community-driven economies.

In the past six months (2026-03-12 to 2026-09-12), Charms launched its iOS app and website, with additional entry points through World App and Base App. Private beta data showed 6,000 users, over 100,000 chats, and more than $1 million in trading volume. The platform also established an official token launch partnership with Clanker to reduce counterfeit token confusion. No major negative events were reported during this period.
