The union representing about 250 security personnel at the busiest ports in the United States has agreed to extend negotiations for a new labor contract for another two weeks, until November 20. The Pacific Maritime Association stated that both parties will continue negotiations with the International Longshore and Warehouse Union Local 26 to avoid disruptions in port operations, which would affect approximately 85% of cargo volume at the Port of Long Beach and about one-third of cargo volume at the Port of Los Angeles.
