The election forecasting agency Decision Desk Headquarters (DDHQ) predicts that Democrat Adam Hamilton successfully flipped a federal Senate seat in Kansas. He capitalized on voter dissatisfaction with President Donald Trump's tariff policies and public discontent caused by rising fuel prices due to the Iran war, becoming the first Democrat elected to the federal Senate from this American Great Plains state since 1932.

According to preliminary vote counts, with 84% of ballots reported, Hamilton leads Republican Senator Roger Marshall with a vote percentage of 53% to 44%. DDHQ has declared Hamilton the winner, but other television media have yet to predict a winner.

According to predictions from DDHQ and several television media outlets, Democrats have currently flipped five seats in the federal Senate elections, coming from North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, Kansas, and South Carolina. The Democrats originally needed to gain a net of four seats to control the Senate, provided that the party did not lose existing seats in other states.
