Canton Foundation allocated 15.8 million CC to fund RedStone pricing standards
The Canton Foundation has approved a grant of nearly 15.8 million Canton Coins to the blockchain oracle provider RedStone, equivalent to approximately 1.55 million USD at the time, for the development of the open-source pricing tool Canton Access and Privacy Standard (CAPS) aimed at institutional clients. This standard is designed to allow institutions to use shared market prices for transaction valuation while not disclosing their agreed settlement amounts to data providers.
According to the plan announced on Thursday, RedStone will release reference prices that can be used to calculate transaction values, with initial development covering tokenized funds, private market assets, and structured products. The pricing calculation and authorization module will be released under the Apache 2 open-source license, allowing other data providers to adjust and use it. Viv Diwakar, head of the Canton Foundation, stated that supporting open-source initiatives like CAPS helps establish a shared privacy and authorization framework, enabling multiple data providers to serve the network.
RedStone has been providing pricing data for Canton since December 2025 and collaborates with ecosystem participants such as Temple Digital Group. Canton Network previously disclosed that it has connected with over 600 institutions, including Goldman Sachs, DTCC, Bank of New York Mellon, and Franklin Templeton, with a monthly transaction processing volume of approximately 9 trillion USD. CoinGecko data shows that the CC token price is about 0.0979 USD, with a market capitalization of 3.91 billion USD and a trading volume of 23.23 million USD in the past 24 hours.
