Reuters survey: The Federal Reserve may raise interest rates in December

A Reuters survey shows that the vast majority of economists expect the Federal Reserve to maintain the federal funds rate in the range of 3.75% to 4% at the October meeting and to raise rates in December.

Alex Pelle, a senior economist at Mizuho Bank, stated that the decision not to raise rates in October is a mistake, and a rate hike of 25 or 50 basis points is possible in December.
