Bitcoin News posted on platform X that France is considering imposing a 31.4% capital gains tax on certain Bitcoin-to-stablecoin transactions, a departure tax on crypto assets valued over 800,000 euros, and requiring the declaration of self-custodied wallet assets valued at no less than 100,000 euros.
Related proposals also include allowing the carryover of crypto asset losses for 10 years, but none of these have yet become law; the French National Assembly has rejected the revenue portion of the 2027 budget, and the related measures still need to be resubmitted for review.
